Recently, Nia DaCosta, the director of The Marvels, explained the reason behind Park Seo-joon’s casting.  In an interview with a leading entertainment portal, Director Nia DaCosta shared that she was impressed by Park Seo-joon's performance in the K-drama Itaewon Class. Nia DaCosta mentioned that she discovered Itaewon Class during the COVID-19 pandemic when her friends recommended the show. During her teenage years, Nia developed a fondness for K-dramas and has recently resumed binge-watching them to relive those memories. She particularly admires Park Seo-joon's cool demeanour in Itaewon Class and has since become interested in his other works.
